What Needs Upgrading Within The Next 5 Years?

Making a list of what needs to weed be upgraded over the next couple of years will weed out some homes before you put in an offer. People only usually look at what needs to be fixed immediately instead of looking a bit further down the road.

The first few years in a home are always costly for retirees, and money is constantly tight. So it’s crucial to be aware of any upcoming expenses. This way, you can be ready for them or consider them when making an offer on the property.

Ignoring Old Paint

Even though sellers must fill out a lead-pair disclosure form in most US states if the home was built before 1978, you should seriously consider its possibility for lead-based paint.

To ease your mind, you should consider bringing along a lead-paint test kit with you on a showing to swab a few suspicious areas, like flaking or chipping, on one of your showings.
